This is a picture of me getting ready to launch a weather balloon at the National Weather Service station in Newport, North Carolina. I took a weather class offered by the American Meteorological Society, and this was one of our "field trips". I really enjoyed that class and learned a lot about el tiempo. Now I'm taking a "Climate" class from them. If anyone is interested, the classes are gratis (FREE!)) and you can earn tres horas of graduate credit. Here's the link:

That is really cool. Were you affected by the tornado that touched down in Davis yesterday? My family is from there, it is a very small town. The crab house it tore down was a third generation seafood business, one of a very few that are still around.
