Spring Break in a Graveyard!

¡Hola, clase!

My boyfriend, his family, and I traveled to Savannah, Georgia over Spring Break Weekend. We had a wedding at the Historic Bonaventure Cemetery. I never thought I'd attend a wedding at a graveyard site. Yet this was something eerily beautiful. I have never visited a prettier scenery. The Spanish moss coats the trees and cascades down to play with the wind. It was a small ceremony, and we loaded up the SUV with 12 people to ride back to 109 West St. where the reception took place in a Victorian home. Free wine and homemade honey beer, excellent music, cheeses from Paris, and great company. It is the wedding season, and minus the plague of gnats, a few bug bites later-we left the party with our honey party favors and retreated back home.

  1. That looks incredibly fun! What an exciting Spring Break, I love Savannah, GA. I've never heard of weddings happening in a graveyard, but it's cool you got to experience firsthand. It sounds like the theme was geared toward "honey?" That's so interesting- I've never had honey flavored beer before!

    2. First wedding in a cemetery I've been too! Beautiful venue! The bride is a beekeeper, so they used her own honey to infuse the beer and for party favors!!! It was excellent! I suggest you try a honey beer! =)

  2. Wow! this is a first. I think it's a good idea but only if you do it with a good reason behind it. Wonderful excuse to visit Savannah. Muchas gracias.

    1. Her husband was pretty close to death, but is now in remission from cancer. She has a family tie to Savannah, but that was the conclusion I drew from it without getting too personal!
